About me I created this website to showcase my artwork and share some ideas and thoughts with the viewer.
It's a concise and meticulous selection of predominantly paintings, digital photographs, and computer graphics chosen from a large series executed over a considerable stretch of time.
Pursuing my career as an artist from early childhood, I hold a master's degree in painting from Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia (1997) and was recipient of a scholarship from Academie der Bildenden Kunst, Karlsruhe, Germany, sponsored by Mercedes Benz (1994). As well, I was a participant in numerous international symposiums and shows.
At present I live and work in New York City. Please note, all the details of my career are included on my C.V. and resume and are available on request.
Having lived and studied extensively in Eastern and Western Europe and eventually moving to New York, I developed a strong understanding of Eastern and Western social and aesthetic values and culture.
With my artwork, I aspire to skillfully integrate the odd and the appealing of these two giant cultures; to merge the abstract and the figurative, the mystical and the mundane, the Eastern and Western thought, in order to converge them into a provocative collision, combining formal elegance with innovation.
Throughout my work I integrate art historical, philosophical, and religious references by juxtaposition of different styles. I also employ various media, including traditional painting, digital photography, computer graphics, 3-D, and design.
My latest "Ocean Series" creates a dynamic narrative that references Eastern thought in contemplating the ephemeral.
I'm currently in the process of incorporating new digital media into my work, which I will post in the near future.
